Just like anything, the teaching begins in our homes. When you are not the one experiencing it, you do not realize the extent of it. My eyes have been opened this week as I have learned how much racism still exists in our country. I love the variety of people and the shades of color in this world. ![]() I have always believed and taught my children that we are all children of God and as such should all be treated with the same love, respect and kindness. But, since they are not, I try hard to teach them to love all kinds of people. I wish my kids were able to experience the diversity I did. Living in Utah, there is very little diversity here and it something I miss a lot. I had good friends of all nationalities and colors. Growing up in Southern Florida, I was surrounded by people of all races and colors. Hopefully this can help you to do the same. Right now it is central in our country, so I want to be sure I am educating my kids on this topic. ![]() This is such an important topic to teach to our kids. Today I want to share with you a list of books about race and diversity for kids. ![]()
